Virtual Gaming Simulation (VGS) has emerged as a novel pedagogy in nursing and other healthcare curricula. In the Envision project, two VGS were developed, namely “Hello, you must be Flo!” and “Caring off duty!”, which are openly accessible on this project’s website.
This section aims to present a framework and guidelines for the effective utilization of these VGS. Educators who wish to integrate these online simulations into their curriculum will find a step-by-step guide for prebriefing, enactment, and debriefing of online simulations in the “How to use?” or “Facilitator guide.”
For educators who aspire to develop new VGS, the “How to make?” guide has been designed. This “Developer guide” documents the Envision VGS creation process through the different stages of pre-production, production, and post-production, encompassing all aspects of the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model. By disseminating this guide, the project aspires to provide developers and designers of new VGS with a practical guide and hands-on tips, while emphasizing the significance to
